Who is this Goalkeeping Kid?
Hello, I’m Jack!
I started playing football at just 18 months old when my parents took me to indoor football sessions for toddlers.
Since then I’ve continued playing and I absolutely love it! I kick a ball around whenever I can and I’m often told off by mum and dad for kicking a ball around inside, oops.
I started playing for a team at 6 years old, initially I played out on pitch first in a central-attacking-midfield position, then as a striker because everyone says I have a mean strike. Eventually though, I filled in for the goalkeeper and made some good saves, so much so it ended up being my final position.
These days I have a busy footballing weekend, I play in goal for my Saturday under 12’s team (St Neots Town FC) in the Junior Premier League and on Sundays I play in the Peterborough and District Junior Alliance for YDP.
My week isn’t quiet either, Mondays I train with Norwich City in their Advanced Development Programme for Goalkeepers, Wednesdays is St Neots Training and Friday is YDP training 🙂
Even though I really enjoy being a goalkeeper, I do still love to smash in a goal so I practise free-kicks and penalties almost everyday, so any opportunity I get to take one in a game I’m excited to take it, check out my YouTube videos for free-kicks too!
